Challenged to redesign an existing book's cover, I decided The Devil Wear's Prada needed a new spin. With such a clever, simple, and iconic movie poster, there was a lot more room for that same spirit to bring the book cover to life.

I used collage elements to keep the playful spirit of the chick-lit genre, while identifying the two primary characters and their conflict with one another. This cover leans into illustration, not straying from complexity in its textures and shapes, and balancing those choices with simple colors and clean use of negative space.
